Let’s raise a glass to the ghosts of all Christmases past

On some desolate highway, as I shake off the cold
I’ve seen too many travelers paying mid-winter’s toll
And my gauge is on empty
So I’ll sit by the light of the moon

And raise this flask to the ghosts of all Christmases past
A song for the year, cuz it’s not mean to last
Life is stranger than fiction
But better with ones to hold fast

Now it’s hard to remember what the heart won’t forget
All these years I’ve been wasted, sewing seeds of regret
But there’s hope in the night sky
